My new love – Hu Ge

Ok, technically he is not my new love because I used to love him in The Little Fairy (天外飞仙) but Nirvana in Fire (琅琊榜) is… way too epic and has since reignited my love for him once again. A few weeks ago, I would just go to Youtube to keep refreshing to find the latest updates of Hu Ge.

Hu Ge has won many prizes for Nirvana in Fire. I thought he was definitely more deserving for this role than The Disguiser (伪装者). I totally cringed when I saw how he was acting cute and laughed when he cried because his acting was really quite bad there in my opinion. And you know, after cooling down from the ‘adrenaline period’, I got to say that the reason why he was so awesome in Nirvana in Fire is mainly because of the (1) production team (2) story plot (3) awesome side characters (4) his life experience. This role strongly reflects his real life experiences and hence he was able to portray so well. In Good Time (大好时光), his acting wasn’t really that great too. Continue reading
